Simon Morrow

Until recently, Simon was a dental practice owner for over 22 years.  

 

He is GDP who has a special interest in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry, particularly Intravenous and Inhalation Sedation. Simon is one of our trainers and mentors.
 
He holds the Post Graduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry and has been carrying out sedation in practice for over 20 years.  Simon carries out sedation as a visiting sedationist.

 

He  lectures for NHS Education for Scotland and has provided sedation updates, seminars and conferences including NHS health boards the British Dental Association (BDA),  Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FGDP). 
 
He has been a Dental Practice and Sedation Inspector for over 18 years working in many NHS health board areas.  His current work includes a contractor for Health Improvement Scotland (HIS).  

 

Simon previously was actively involved in Vocational Training having supported dentists and dental therapists for over 11 years.
 
Simon has a wealth of experience being a member of many committees at local and national level. He was a member of NHS Ayrshire and Arran's Area Professional Dental Committee for over 18 years and chaired the committee for five years.

 

Simon was a member of the National Dental Advisory Committee and the Older people working group for the Scottish Dental Needs Assessment Programme (SDNAP).  

 

He was the dental representative for the North Ayrshire Community Health Partnership. Simon was part of the guidance development group for Scottish Dental Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) for the Conscious Sedation Guidance.  

 

Simon is currently a Non-Executive council member of the General Dental Council.
